"I'm Available To You"

1980年代中期以降のゴスペル・クワイア・ブームの中にあっても、『There Is Hope』『If I Be Lifted Up』『Available To You』『Open Our Eyes』『My Mind Is Made Up』と言う5枚のNo.1アルバムを生んだミルトン・ブランソンとトンプソン・コミュニティー・シンガーズ(愛称はトミーズ)は抜きんでた、特別な存在であった。
その中でも、今回、取り上げる「Available To You」は、1987年の発表以来、アメリカのみならず日本でも未だに歌い継がれる永遠の名曲だ。

「私の手を、耳を、声を、目を、全て用いて下さい。私は今、自分という器を空っぽにしました。だから、あなたで私を満たして下さい。そうしたら私は真に解放されて、もっとあなたに用いられるようになる。」

ちなみに、このライブ・ヴァージョンはビデオ『Rise Up And Walk』からのコピーで、オリジナル・アルバム・ヴァージョンとは構成が異なる貴重な音源だ。ミルトン・ブランソンは1997年にこの世を去ったが、神への愛を歌い上げた数々の傑作と共に、その名が忘れ去られる事はないだろう
