クワイア・ディレクターとして知られるカート・カーの代名詞ともいえる傑作。


この曲は2000年の大ヒット・アルバム『Awesome Wonder』のトップを飾った
アップ・テンポの作品で、
「聖なる礼拝堂で手を掲げ、打ち鳴らし、歌って主に賛美を捧げよう！この命尽きるまで！」
というポップで明るいメロディーと力強いメッセージは、
この後、世界中で歌われる程に広まった。

録音は、当時、カーが音楽監督を務めていたロサンゼルスを代表する黒人教会
ウェスト・エンジェルス・コージック(West Angeles C.O.G.I.C.)で行われ、
Music & Arts Japanで来日を果たしたジョナサン・グリアー等も
